Uncommon OSINT: Obsidian, Semantic Meaning and NLP - I want to explore tools made for one purpose and understand how they can make us better intelligence analysts and communicators so I decided to write a series of articles - Uncommon OSINT. This series was inspired by a conversation I had with Amber at Tactical Tech's Influence Industry project. It made me realize that not everyone does what I do - cross applying tools for different uses - and not everyone is aware of the cool tools that can be force multipliers for OSINT. In part one of the Uncommon OSINT series -- Learn how to take a beautiful note taking app, Obsidian, and turn it into an OSINT powerhouse by adding semantics, NLP and visualization.
How Will AI Change Our World View? - Exploring The Artificial Worldviews Map project by Kim Albrecht who explores how AI may influence our future understanding of knowledge. The more we rely on artificial intelligence for our knowledge base, the more we should be focused on what the training data includes and excludes. The answer may shape our future understanding of our shared history and the world around us.
Useful and sometimes fun downloads of references and resources.
Farallon's 2024 Not So Ultimate OSINT Compendium - I benefited so deeply from the fantastic mentorship I received early in my career. The Ultimate OSINT Compendium is a way for me to give back to the talented and generous OSINT community that I am so proud to be a part of. I know how fortunate I am and this is part of my commitment to pay it forward — not just to up and comers, but also to my peers at all levels.
